The City of St. Louis Animal Care and Control (ACC) division is housed in the Department of Health. ACC provides rabies registration and licensing services and are responsible for the enforcement of pet-related city ordinances in the City of St. Louis. Additionally, ACC provides outreach and education services regarding pet safety and responsible pet ownership.

ACC partners with a variety of pet welfare and rescue organizations that offer additional pet-related services, and our ACC staff members are happy to provide referrals.

Our Mission

To ensure the health and safety of City of St. Louis residents and companion animals through the enforcement of pet-related ordinances, as well as the promotion of pet safety and responsible pet ownership.

Our goals are to:
